Job Description
Job Summary Provide computer instruction, focusing on Microsoft Office Suite applications and keyboarding, to adult learners.
Responsibilities
•Provides engaging lessons implementing district-adopted Computer Business Applications curriculum as well as meeting local, state and federal mandates.
•Able to write learning intentions and success criteria for each standard addressed.
•Incorporate work-based learning scenarios into lessons to prepare students for employment.
•Participates actively in site and district professional development opportunities.
•Provides modeling and promotes the use of differentiated instruction, including intervention and enrichment, to meet the needs of all students, including students with special learning and language needs (English Learners, Special Education and GATE).
•Collaborates with FAS staff.
•Monitors progress of adult learners through the collection, maintenance and analysis of student assessment data.
•Uses appropriate classroom management techniques to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum.
•Maintains current knowledge of educational research, materials and strategies by attending meetings, trainings and conferences pertaining to the quality of instruction.
•Participates in the analysis of assessment data for the purpose of guiding instruction.
Requirements / Qualifications Qualifications
•CTE Finance and Business (from business)
•NCLB compliance (Highly Qualified Teacher under NCLB legislation)
•EL Authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, LDS, BCC, AB1059, SB2042, SB1969, SB395, AB2913, ELA1, or equivalent)
•Ability and desire to work with adult learners
•Experience with meeting the needs of all students in a diverse, multicultural environment
