About the team
TikTok's Data Cycling Center Team is actively seeking a Data Scientist to fortify our data management and analytics capabilities. The candidate will play a pivotal role in steering data annotation management, bolstering data analytics support, and adeptly managing stakeholders across various business verticals. This role is vital in enhancing our data-driven initiatives and ensuring impeccable data quality, all while optimizing machine learning performance across all spectrums of the business.

Responsibilities:
-Drive clarity and solve ambiguous, challenging business problems using data-driven approaches. Propose and own data analysis (including modeling, coding, analytics, and experimentation) to drive business insight and facilitate decisions.
-Develop creative solutions and build prototypes for business problems using algorithms based on machine learning, statistics, and optimization.
-Automate and scale existing analysis methods. Institute innovative approaches to modeling and analysis frameworks
-Understand advertiser and creator engagement, build predictive modeling processes, and find stories based on signals of advertiser success or failure/churn
-Hire, develop, empower, and motivate. Our culture is passionate about rapid iteration with open feedback and healthy debates along the way

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
-5 years of experience working with ML/AI
-3+ years of experience leading Data Science teams
-Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
-Demonstrated excellence in a relevant AI/ML discipline (CV, NLP, ASR, etc.), including experience with ML model building with libraries such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, and OpenAI
-Strategic mentality with the ability to condense complex concepts, analysis, and models into actionable, data products and strategies
-Knowledge of fundamentals of machine learning, such as algorithm families (regression, classification, unsupervised), A/B testing, hypothesis testing, and optimization

Preferred qualifications:
-Experience with human-in-the-loop ML, active learning, and data labeling
-Experience with knowledge graphs and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, triplestores, ontologies, taxonomies)
-Strong communication skills, for example, demonstrated through documentation and presentations. Able to present findings to senior management to inform business decisions.
