About the Vacancy

Under the leadership and strategic direction of the owner, and with full professional support from teams in Germany and staff in Charlotte, flexi North America sells millions of leashes to FDM, pet channels, distributors, and online. To ensure outstanding operations of the subsidiary in Charlotte, NC, flexi North America is seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the daily functioning of the subsidiary.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an early- to mid-career Operations Manager, Branch Manager, or talented Office Manager with experience in a distribution center or branch store with a warehouse in the consumer goods industry. Leadership experience is expected as you will be leading a team of 5 in Charlotte.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a staff of 3 in the warehouse and 2 in the back office to ensure the uninterrupted import of leashes from Germany and their distribution to North American customers.
• Act as the linchpin and first line of contact between the subsidiary in Charlotte and headquarters in Germany.
• Lead the staff of the subsidiary.
• Manage various overarching administrative tasks such as invoicing, banking, process improvements, shipping and receiving, logistics management, establishing and reporting KPIs, health and safety compliance, training and development, budget management, workforce planning, continuous improvement, performance monitoring and reporting, and other tasks aimed at ensuring best-in-class operations of the subsidiary.

Candidate Profile

• Proven 5+ year background as an Operations Manager/Supervisor, Office Manager, Distribution Manager, Branch Manager, or similar roles, ideally in the consumer goods industry with related warehouse and distribution activities.
• 3+ years of managerial experience of a small team.
• Background with an OEM in the hard goods product segments selling through mass market retail (e.g., Walmart, Target, Meyers, PetCo, PetSmart) is highly preferred.
• Experience in a wide range of administrative tasks as outlined above
• Proven intercultural adaptability and experience in matrix organizations are a distinct advantage.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• This is a daily on-site position. Willingness to relocate to Charlotte, NC, if not local.
• Ability to travel as necessary, including occasional trips to Germany.
• Prior work experience for a European company is highly desired.
• German language skills are a distinct advantage but not a requirement.

Compensation

This position offers a salary of up to $110,000 per year, plus benefits.
